My Lover the Sea

A gaze upon the sun soaked sky

Draws a tear from this boy’s eye

The day is closing night will fall

And sadly the ending to it all

The daylights gone and I am sad

The diving the best I’ve ever had

The Ocean called to me once more

Her pull so strong I can't ignore

So this familiar and I dance

So captivated in her trance

Her beauty beckons I must abide

My eagerness I'm unable to hide

To slip within her my only thought

In her spell I’m surely caught

Her smell, her taste, her very sound

The drug I need I can’t put down

She’s always had me from the start

Serenity in motion captures my heart

Singing, lulling, calling out to me

My old lover sometimes called the sea

It matters not the dances before

She'll reach out to me once more

And I will run to feel her touch

Satisfying, but never enough

And so it goes for all my life

My love the ocean my only wife

And when she needs me I will run

Knowing completely I am undone

I’m the words and she my muse

Together the dancers become fused

Never indistinguishable

Into her depths I will always go
