These tears, falling like rain

To release the sorrow, to mask the pain

Too soon again, another loved one lost

Can I ever truly, understand the cost

My soul is aching, my mind numb

'I'm tired of asking, why,....How come?

It seems life is so very unfair

Especially for those for which we care

It's never easy to say goodbye

And so these tears that we cry

They offer release and honor too

it's proper respect, we offer you

Merciful lord hear this prayer

For all our departed

These tears we share

Bring them comfort heal their hearts

Knowing your embrace is for where

They depart

​

So we offer up these tears

Release all doubt, questions and fears

Replace them with, your unending love

We'll see them again when we meet above

​

Until then, these tears will do

It's during this time, we turn to you

Remembering always the promise you gave

In these tears, the power to save
